Choosing the right ribbon formulation

Most shipping labels and cartons use coated paper stock, for which a wax-resin ribbon provides the fast, cost-effective printing and light abrasion resistance needed for handling through sortation and transport. For labels applied directly to stretch film, shrink wrap or plastic totes, or for pallet tags stored outdoors, a resin grade is recommended for its resistance to moisture, abrasion and UV fading.
